Thank you for this thoughtful comment. You helped me reconcile that sick feeling I had in the way Save talked about taking over. He is already predispositioned to make some pretty awful and damaging decisions so yes what you described totally makes sense. The show really forces us to look at growth as well as forgivness and the factors that lead to the decisions we make in life.

Bc he feels set up to be a character who is not necessarily a bad person, but who's priorities are clearly more on the person he loves instead of the greater good. And with him already saying that he understands how power could lead to corruption, that's the perfect set up for him to slowly succumb to the power he now holds. As of now, he's in charge of Suphanimit, since it was part of their deal with Lompran (that was that guys name, right?) that they have to give all the territories they gain to him except for Suphanimit, so Save gets to decide how he runs the ship now. What I would love to see is him starting out being very generous, letting the debtors pay back their money slowly and giving them actual opportunities to do so (bc like he said, economically speaking, he can't just forgive all the debts, that's not realistic) and then slowly have him turn more extreme and harsher until he ends up just as bad as Boss, even though his initial intentions were good. That would be a very realistic thing, bc that's kinda the cycle of power - and that's what the whole show is about - power, oppression, poverty. Sadly, with only one episode left, we'll probably not see all of it happening, but I kinda hope they'll plant even more seeds for this to be the outcome of his story, even if we don't end up seeing it happen. These past two episodes have made me very fascinated with Saves character, I enjoy the fact that they are not trying to make him seem perfectly redeemable, he's just another person living oppressed but having a different worldview/moral code that's more self centered than our main protagonists. Jokes talk with Ama really made me cry this ep. For her, within that conversation, she was loosing her son and you could see the pain so clearly in her face. Joke being so on rock bottom that he truly thinks the people he loves - Jack, Ama, even his daughter - are safer and better off without him, was heart wrenching, but also perfectly in character and soo relatable. If I felt that I was putting my sisters, who I helped raise and love as if they were my own children, in danger or my presence was constantly hurting them, I would leave too! Oh and Jokes dad saying to Toi Ting "grandpa knows you can do it" was a gut punch that I didn't see coming. It is so heartwarming to see him finally accept Joke and not just him, but also immediately, without a second thought, accepting Jokes family as part of his own. I liked that they still showed the sternness in him this episode, when he scolded them for being too loud, that part of him is not just gone suddenly, it's more that he's slowly learning to not only be stern, but to show his warmth and kindness as well. I just love character development that is actually set up well and this show has been doing a really great job at that. Lots of different personalities to dissect hahaha
