2025-08-21 14:44:22 +0000 UTCI agree with Nikki ... I love shows with good chemistry between the leads. I never watched KinnPorche or PitBabe, because the storylines didn't interest me. BUT ... in some respects, High School Frenemy and Peaceful Property: ON SALE were more "BL"-ish than some actual BLs, even tho they were technically "Bromances". I loved Reset, too, because of the complex interactions of the characters. Cupid's Last Wish was really good at looking at characters internal thought processes, and really showed Mix's comedic talents. Also, I have to watch the Our Skyy II finale episodes of 1000 Stars when I watch that series, as it really brings the story to a satisfactory close. So, in conclusion of my wandering tirade here, I really love stories that give the characters purpose and meaning, no matter what the underlying genre may be.

This last episode was healing and I love all the appreciation Jim was getting especially with Li Ming. Their tussles always left me stressed and wishing Li Ming wouldn’t be so harsh with Jim. I just checked out the pilot for this show and the tone definitely changed cause I remember thinking it would be more spicy too. And I remember all the I’ll defend cheating for you memes along with people thinking this would be like Only Friends and calling 2023 the mature year. I remember fans thinking this would be the last show for EM at least for a while so the GF story stealing peoples hearts got fandoms fighting. And at this point msp and eclipse aired so the fandom fighting did not help the ultra critical talk around Jim. This show is so well done and holds up as time passes. It’s crazy they were fighting while filming this I think that might’ve added to fans thinking this would be their last project 😅. I would be curious to see you react to cupids last wish cause fans also had an issue with how mean one character was and the body swap. But the body swap is done well and you see Mixx majority of the time even when he’s in his sisters body. But yea I do still crave soft EM romantic roles and I don’t think that will happen at all in Only Friends either 😅. I’m curious if you think Shine is fully a queer show or just leaning because Boc has stated it’s not a BL. And they’ve said they’re not boys but men and some ppl had a backlash to that whole thing. They seem adamant in categorizing it as not BL. Anyways back to the show but I always thought it was sad and odd that Gaipa wasn’t in the last group picture for the shop or at the farewell dinner when he’s played such a big part in helping out. I get the rejection being too much but he belongs there. Ngl I would love to see Earth and Kaotung characters get together for a bit. This show has made me see their potential together.
