Part of what makes this series so good now, when it could have been cringy, is that the directors (there were 2) like to film romances backwards to avoid possible on-set feelings. They said that since the ending episodes are usually the most emotional/romantic, then filming those first means less chance for the actors'/actresses' feelings to mimic those of their characters as the series progresses from beginning to end. However ... that plan completely backfired with this cast. The main four rival the clingiest of Thai pairings, Tian and ZiYu especially. The BTS of this show are insane. And even almost a year after filming and moving on to other projects, they are still nearly joined at the hip. All that to say ... by the time they filmed these early episodes they were already very comfortable with each other ... and even at their silliest, that comes through, I think.
