As near as I can figure, it adds the inputs and then outputs a voltage (level determined by the sensitivity knob) whenever the signal crosses the threshold. When the signal is under the threshold, it simply passes through. The result is a wave with "square" shelves in it.

Also i honestly thought "adding" the triangle wave to the voice would change the tone of the voice to match the triangle wave... but actually what i heard makes a lot more sense. It's just a plain addition. I don't know why i thought the first before hearing it.
And yes the neuron was interesting.
