My Hero Academia: Vigilantes 1x10 "Event Announcement!" - reaction & review
Added 2025-06-14 19:07:41 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to episode 10 of Vigilantes! Oh wow guys, here it is, partially anyway - the backstory I was waiting for with my man!!! Except, he's someone else's man, oops! Whatever Queen Bee did to his wife looks pretty nasty, and I'm starting to have some speculations about how she fits into this!!! Now that he's found her, what on earth will happen?! We also got the claw guy back in this one, and Pop Step has got a new manager it seems lol! Makoto is truly good at what she does, just look at the rebranded C.C.!!! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Sorry for the massive delay! Ahhh yesss you put into words exactly why this episode hit so hard!! đđ Knuckleduster opening up to his wife was just⊠so bittersweet and powerful, it honestly broke me but also made me love his character even more. The contrast of his rough, badass exterior with those quiet, gentle moments is EVERYTHING and really shows how layered he is!! đ And omg the way you pointed out his hands clasping together?? YES, it felt like he was holding himself together and it hurt in the best way đ. The whole Kuin connection and Soga being dragged into the mix just amps up the tension so much â Iâm so with you on that âWTF momentâ with the bees, it was insane but also genius storytelling. And yesss, Popâs concert storyline woven into all this darkness was such a nice balance â her anxiety felt so real and Knuckleâs lil nose bop melted my heart đâš. I love how you broke down all the little details, it made me appreciate the episode even more!! Thanks again for the comment and all the support!!!

2025-10-04 12:37:07 +0000 UTCI love this episode especially because it gives some much needed back story stuff for Knuckleduster. Even though we didnât it get a lot of exact details about whatâs going on with his past we got enough from this episode to make educated guesses based on the implications. You can really feel the emotional weight in the bitter sweet scene of Knuckleduster talking to his catatonic wife which is great for an adaption of a melancholic moment like this. Thereâs something very sad about him talking about how heâs leading a much better life now because saying he has hobbies/friends implies he didnât have that and that in addition to basically saying he used to not be as attentive/caring towards his family it paints a depressing picture. It gets even sadder when we learn that his wife is in a position where there is little chance of recovery I think even if you havenât experienced something like this itâs a situation that is easy to sympathize with when it comes to the position Knuckleduster is in. I think something that really adds to the scene is how gentle/quiet he is while talking to his wife because itâs great to see a completely different side of his personality/character it makes a character more interesting as well. Also Knuckle holding his hands together feels like a way he is comforting himself/keep his composure which makes me sad. The reveal that Kuin was involved in his wife becoming like this is great because itâs surprising but it helps give context for why Knuckle had such an intense reaction to seeing the bee in episode 3 when Kuin used her quirk to turn a group of people into instant villains. Youâve got a good point the only obvious for a villain to go after Knuckleâs wife is because of a grudge & a dangerous job where grudges are common would be an explanation. Itâs interesting that Soga seems to be working for Knuckleduster now with him asking around about Knuckleâs daughter it makes you wonder if Soga went to him off screen at some point maybe because of what happened with Stendhal & then got roped in to the hunt for Knuckleâs daughter or if Knuckle approached him because he is a part of the seedier side of here society. With how different Kuin looked not that long ago it really gets the mind thinking about all the possibilities of whatâs going on with her character. Yeah unfortunately even though itâs not his intention Soga hanging around a high school is sus. Itâs really disturbing/disgusting that when Soga thinks heâs actually going to get some information Kuinâs friend releases bees from her body in that way also his reaction to this is him basically saying do you think Iâm that kind of scumbag. And yeah the implication definitely is that Kuin was controlling her friend with the bees especially with a news story later about a girl who collapsed & is now in the hospital probably the girl who talked to Soga & thatâs a terrifying concept. Also everyone who watches this episode/reads this stuff for the 1st time has the some WTF reaction to that specific thing happening & to be fair itâs wild LOL. But itâs an awesome moment for Soga with how he was able to go on the defensive & get out of there by using insecticide which was smart & probably saved him. I love how his friends come to his rescue when the spray isnât enough showing how close they are not wanting him to leave them out of a dangerous situation when they want to help him. And then we go right back to absolute sadness with Knuckleduster talking to his wife about how doctors arenât always right which I think is him trying to convince himself that that she will be okay one day but I think he has genuine hope that it could happen as well. Also itâs just sad that with what he talks about we learn they have a kid named Tamao it really makes you wonder whatâs going on with that child when he says everything is going according to plan. And it makes what he said to Koichiâs mother about having to let children out of this eventually to fly on their own even if itâs dangerous more impactful since heâs a parent as well. I have to say the interactions Soga has with Knuckleduster are very interesting because itâs a little complicated because Soga is not afraid to question Knuckle while heâs still holding Soga at arms length because itâs something dangerous & very personal. I like seeing the human side of Soga where even though he doesnât like Koichi & Pop that much he is still worried about their well-being if Knuckle has gotten them involved in the search/hunt for Kuin. While Knuckle is using the Crawler & Pop as a way to lure in Kuin because of their tendency to this draw attention to themselves a lot of the time because of bad (or good depending on how you look at it) luck it doesnât mean he doesnât care about them or take away from the moments where he shows that he cares. And I donât expect him to be as logical about this when itâs such a personal mission & TBF he probably is protecting them by not telling them the whole story not wanting to involve them in this dangerous mission since he is much better equipped to handle something like this. And while it isnât the smartest I think it makes sense why someone like him would want to do this on his own. I like the interaction Koichi has with Soga wanting to see how heâs doing after the Stendhal ordeal although unfortunately it looks like doesnât want anything to do with them right now possibly because this is dangerous or doesnât feel he fits in with someone like Koichi especially after what he did. Itâs really disturbing to see Kuin talking to âmama & papaâ while watching television/eating when they are dead & rotting I donât even want to think about what it smells like in there. Itâs dark that she killed a random couple to have a place to stay/money & possibly to have a cover if anyone wanted to investigate her especially how casual she is about it. Also Iâm glad it was quickly told that these are not her actual parents when she decides she needs to find a new place because it might be too convoluted otherwise. Knuckledusterâs training routine is completely insane lifting a lot of weight with tires wrapped around his body with chains, destroying wooden training dummies that are designed to take a beating & other stuff showing his strength & frankly astounding stamina. This voice actor is great at sounding gruff/badass but I donât know if it was the voice director or just the actor but someone knew what they were doing because I bet he sounds sexy to anyone attracted to men & even if even if Iâm wrong because it is another language the animators knew what they were doing with how they animated him pouring water on himself. Also this man is wildly jacked. I love how this concert storyline is introduced with someone wanting her talent for this reopening because itâs awesome that people are starting to recognize her talent even more because she deserves it. I love that having anxiety/uncertainty about this offer the 1st person Pop goes to for advice is Koichi itâs very sweet. I love how Koichi wants to comfort/support her decision whether she does this or not but itâs funny that because of her confrontational personality sometimes heâs scared she will react negatively/violently no matter what. I love the heartwarming/mature advice Knuckle gives to just go for it in my opinion because he is trying to say that itâs okay even if it doesnât work out as well as his way of supporting her. Also the way he bops her on the nose is so cute anyone who anyone who doesnât realize/think he cares about them after that is crazy. I think itâs so Koichi that he wants to help so he gets Makoto someone he sees as much more competent than him & heâs right considering the outcome. I love that when she thinks the people running this event are not taking the talent seriously she decides to make them showing her feisty side & probably the side that doesnât like to be underestimated. Itâs still hilarious how uncomfortable Captain Celebrity is with this new image but I think it shows how successful this rebranding has been that he trusts Makoto completely with something that will improve his likability without asking questions. Also some small development for Chopper making sure to support the local area & the rebuilding efforts after the destruction he was partially responsible for itâs still for his image but itâs progress I think. I actually forgot that the crab villain was originally Gamera in the manga it was cool to be reminded of that I like that the author did that after making a Godzilla reference as well. Itâs impressive & awesome to see Makoto work her marketing magic to make this event into a proper concert with some help from Captain Celebrityâs fame/name recognition sheâs scarily competent & efficient go getter is the perfect way to describe her. I like the jingle itâs cute & catchy and I like the commercials animation Iâm mostly sure the imagery of the commercial wasnât in the manga and the lyrics might have been itâs a cool addition. I love how even though sheâs not the most comfortable with Makoto Kazuho is so genuinely grateful for her help/support. Makoto is such a cool character really has a cool big sis/upperclassman vibe I love it. I love how Koichi understands/knows Pop well enough to translate her anxiety into not being confident but ready to do her best. I think all of us can understand the anxiousness/pressure because no one is not nervous when performing in front of others or public speaking some are just better at handling it compared to others. Kuin has an interesting reaction to the concert when sheâs thinking about causing her normal brand of chaos & then gets strangely confused for a second because of âthat manâsâ face which you can only assume means Knuckle itâs a great way of making you think about whatâs going on with her character. You know shitâs about to go down when Knuckledusterâs music starts playing also itâs impressive that he was able to track her down with the small amount of information Soga got for him. And yeah youâre right without contest an older man beating up a high school girl looks really bad LOL. Also this author not missing chances to make insect based puns with Kuin is amazing. I canât say much about your thoughts after the episode because I donât want to spoil but I think they were great & one thing I can say is that your theories are reasonable with the information in this episode. Also you canât change how you feel but I donât think you need to feel bad about finding an animated character who is married attractive LMAO. Iâm glad that Makoto turned out to be likable because it could have easily have been written in an unlikable way because of the love triangle & for me this is more interesting. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

2025-06-27 21:43:51 +0000 UTCLOL I meaaannn...yeah he's fictional, but I still feel a bit guilty! (Mr. Hime doesn't mind, he already knows about the husbandos LOL) Yeah they did a good job building up a little bit of doubt with Makoto, but she's solid! She really does love what she does lol. And yeah, I'd totally find that intimidating if I was working with her haha. Hahaha like what even was this episode!!! XD

2025-06-20 21:36:40 +0000 UTCLol I see the hidden disappointment in your eyes. feeling guilty for hitting on a married man. Mrs., come on now. XD I was a bit unsure about how I felt about Makato at first as well. I think sheâs genuinely a good person from what I remember reading. Still, sheâs the type of person I would be continue to be so intimidated by because sheâs just so good at what she does. She loves work and I could never. Man, crabs in the sky, bees under a girls skirt they have the whole thing backwards. đ€Šââïž
