What are human lives to a death God? So it makes complete sense that he is abject of human morals therefore, we can't expect him to sympathize with humans and can't hold him accountable for that, for he doesn't know right from wrong in human terms. đ In conclusion, Ryuk is my 3rd favorite character and I have no regrets. After all, the Christian God has a whole laundry list compared to Ryuk's bout of "I'm bored, let's watch humans screw with each other" lol

2023-01-25 14:32:22 +0000 UTCHonestly I havenât really rewatched this (especially the beginning) since the first time I watched it back in 6th grade which tbf probably wasnât age appropriate. I did really enjoy it the first time of course but idk I donât usually rewatch plot heavy series because I already know whatâs happened. But I do remember when I watched it as a kid, I honestly was supporting Light for the first episode or maybe two (idk exactly when I switched to supporting L but Iâm pretty sure it was around the the part where he killed the âinnocentâ guy just because he didnât agree)â itâs insane how black and white my interpretation of the world was then. I was a kid and I guess like âbadâ people should die so they canât keep hurting anyone else and also the âwarningâ for other people to not commit crimes made some sense to me. I also didnât have any nuance about good vs bad as a sheltered kid, but like I think it felt like the more âedgyâ like Lights pov here with people in society versus how they actually think, but like even while watching this series my pov flipped entirely not just because of this show but just because I was growing as a person. Rewatching this now Iâm like how in the world could I have ever âsupportedâ Light because he was pretty psychotic even through the first episode. Also knowing all the systematic issues now or even by the time I got to high school the whole idea is so insane lol. Itâs pretty startling to think how much Iâve changed from that time in my life even though as a kid I thought I was so mature and like wise lol. Like you donât really realize it until some moments like this come up lol. Thanks for the reaction and Iâm loving the philosophical and sociological discussions youâve been bringing up! Love yâall!
