Newsletter: week of 12/30

Happy New Year, bud! I rang in the new year by cutting and pasting all sorts of hopes and dreams onto a 2025 vision board (see below!). How about you?

I am setting my sights high, hoping to have 450,000 YouTube subs by 2026, but I am also trying to get more sleep and learn to fly fish... here goes nothing. 🚀

I also wasn't on my phone or computer much this week, which felt like a breath of fresh air. However, it also led to less watching, reading, and listening. Help me fill in the blanks and share anything you have seen in the comments!

What I saw in the first week of 2025:

2024 (Fred again . .)

• A sort of voyeuristic, fly-on-the-wall view of Fred Again's 2024. It got me thinking about filming something like this for myself for a 2025 round-up.

• On New Year's morning, I watched this, periodically skipping ahead, for at least 40 minutes. Then I walked away thinking, "I could do that." when I knew full well that I could never. Aspirations, I have a few.

• I was a bit unsure of how to feel about LTT after the channel's summer of problems in 2023. While there still aren't many answers to questions and concerns that arose, I really enjoyed this conversation. I also did not realize just how large a company LTT is. All two hours are worth a listen, regardless of how you feel about the company as a whole.

• A guy named Jordan Koschei got his FAA drone license, shot a whole bunch of drone footage in NY's Hudson Valley, and then made it free for anyone to use. We stan open source anything. 👏
