He's kind of like a universe-traveling philosopher. This is a good premise for a TV show. You should write it! I'm curious what the dark versions of him were like.

2025-06-14 00:54:28 +0000 UTCThis was fascinating, I never thought about my runalongs like this in all my years. Of course I've had plenty of them over the years, less as I grew up and started driving more than riding in the car, but there was one I was always watching more than the others. If such a thing even exists, my runalong was the Etiäinen of another character that lived in my head! When I was around the age you start thinking about stories and chatacters in terms of things you can create instead of just consume from the tv, i formed what I thought at the time was my perfect protagonist in a story which appealed most to me and only me. He was an anthropomorphic reptile man, think like the Argonians from the Elder Scrolls games. And his driving ambition was to understand how circumstances effect the kind of person you become, which he did by visiting alternate timeline versions of himself from other universes to learn what they had to teach him about their different lives. This Etiäinen who flew alongside my car rides was, in this story in my head, the only version of himself who could also cross the universal barriers, and also the only one which acted against him as an antagonist. He was the same person but wore dark militaristic tactical gear with a helmet always obscuring his face. And he was incredibly agile and proficient at using a futuristic hoverboard to get around. I was always fascinated by villains and antagonistic intent, and I ended up thinking about this dark runalong more than his light side version over time. I thought about all of this so much, and i would construct elaborate chase scenes for my characters all the time, as I love highly dynamic and graceful movement scenes. So it's no wonder that I saw him all the time riding in the car! Those little characters in my head were how i saved myself from a lot of boredom and lonliness when I was a kid in elementary school.
