2025-03-17 10:12:01 +0000 UTCVery true. We first saw him in "My Love from Another Star" and we loved him in that! I can't believe that Song Joong Ki turned down this role. I think he would have done well, but Kim Soo Hyun absolutely killed it. He deserved it as well as the accolades. Can't wait to see what he does next now that Queen of Tears is over. Most of the historical dramas we've seen have been very good, but also very sad. Six Flying Dragons was an incredible drama, as well as Red Sleeve Cuff and Empress Ki. But again, actual history doesn't often lend itself to having a wrapped up happy ending. So we're nervous how this one is gonna end up.

2024-09-22 01:36:06 +0000 UTCThis is why Kim Soo Hyun and the whole drama has soo much award and I think the tv ratings was around in the 40s%... it was called the Nation's drama for this reason alone. It was sooo immersive and this propelled Kim Soo Hyun's career to where it is today and the fact that he was able to follow it up with My love from the stars then The Producers... it established him as one of the top actors and still the highest paid Korean actor to date. I haven't watched a lot of historical dramas but from what I've seen the storytelling of this drama didn't feel much like historical except for the barbaric rules and torture.
