So the question is what her attitude the product of her pampering and environment, or was it an ingrained behavior that she always had? Probably a mix for both. Very sad that people turn out like that but punishment is definitely necessary.

It was sad that she didn't know, and at her young age she might not have fully understood the implications of what marrying him would mean if she was exposed in the future. To her, her father, the king and grandmother covered it all up so it would stay that way. It's a selfish and self centered way of thinking. It's sad that the king brough Yeon Woo into the palace specifically to try to help the princess out of that kind of thinking and behavior. But the fact she never apologized and said she would do it again!? Absolutely not. THAT's the real sin of the whole thing. Selfishness and greed. Exactly.

Even if we say her part is forgivable since she didn't know, the fact the she knew afterwards, the former king has told her as much, yet she still pursued marrying him is not real love. She knows how the law works, she's a criminal and if she's found out, the brother and the family will also be indicted with her but she didnt care as long as she gets what she wants which is to marry him and be with him always. Its not enough that she has a hand on why the family is suffering in the past and present, she'll also cause downfall to them in the future once she's punished. If that's not the definition of selfishness, I don't know what is. I also think that even if the grandma told her when she was younger what will happen, she will still proceed with it and the fact that she didn't apologize to the king even once about what happened, she's just unforgivable to me.
