I was SO pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the Ming cooks. We were expecting to really despise them and root against them, but I was even rooting FOR them at the end there and was so torn! Absolutely can't imagine another person playing the king... he totally blew this role out of the water. I know he's been in other things, but this has to be considered his break-out role. Some dramas could absolutely use fewer episodes. Or 12 is perfect, or 16 is perfect, but this one was ABSOLUTELY too short! Only 2 episodes left!? We want more!

She was still young and had a lot to learn, but she did learn from that experience and I think she will learn even more from her uncle and Wenli. Speaking of Wenli, I feel for him so much! I always felt that something was off with him when he didn't taste even the macarons or the ingredients, but learning that he's anorexic just broke my heart because as someone who's been there and now loves food, I can totally empathize with him and I just wish him the best and that he'll find other foods he can enjoy. And you're absolutely right, without Chaemin, this show wouldn't be the same. He's the perfect person to play this king. You can see how immersed he is. I can't even tell that it's an actor playing him, I feel like I'm literally in that king's presence when I watch the show. The next 3 episodes (well, 2, since you've watched 10 already), are so good! The only problem I have with this drama is that it's too short~ I'd like to see even more of all the characters, especially the Ming chefs and Jiyeong's chefs too! They're just so supportive of each other, Jiyeong and the king. It's unusual to see especially in that time period. But I guess they were fated to become friends, which I love!

BTW, the real historical Yeonsangun's half-brother was not that much younger than him. But I like that they made him a cute little kid in this alt-history drama.
