This episode was the calm before the storm, as conflicts are now on the horizon. Me-ri must deal with her ex, while Woo-joo could become entangled in issues stemming from his uncle. Speaking of the uncle, I always remember the aunt as Woo Young-woo's CEO. I didn't even recognize her in When Life Gives You Tangerines for a long time. When they mentioned making a large batch of mandus and freezing them for later use, it reminded me of my own family's tradition. We also make a lot of dumplings and freeze them. Our dumplings resemble mandus but have more heavily seasoned meat fillings—typically chicken, goat, or buffalo meat—mixed with onion, garlic, ginger, chilies, and cilantro. They also have thinner wrappers and are usually eaten with a spicier dipping sauce. We call our dumplings momos.
