Lee is so right, Michelle Kwan was absolutely robbed of the Olympic gold medal (I think that's the only gold she never managed to get?). IMO, figure skating has only become more about jumps since then because of the changes that were made after the 2002 pairs skating cheating controversy where it seemed obvious that the Canadians should have won but behind the scenes shenanigans with the judges resulted with the Russians winning. Ironically, the bias toward "classical beauty" in figure skating is what kept fantastic skaters who looked less "like a figure skater" (e.g Sonya Bonaly and Elvis Stojko) from getting that Olympic gold medal.
