I think Ellie was both right and wrong when it came to the boy that they tortured in front of them they should never allow stuff like that to go unchallenged but at the same time there was only two of them but she should have stayed with Jesse and gotten Dina out.

Imo, it would have been a stronger story if Ellie had died here. With Abby’s perspective included, it could have left you with questions like: What makes us human? And do moral values still apply, or is survival the only thing that matters? It would have given weight to the cycle of violence and the cost of obsession. By showing both sides losing something irreparable, the story could have emphasized that in a broken world, no one truly wins. Ellie’s death could have been the emotional breaking point, forcing the player to reflect on forgiveness, grief, and the limits of redemption during Abby’s run. Instead, it now feels unresolved, like it backed away from its own moral reckoning. Like kids throwing sand back and forth at each other, with no one really listening, no one really growing. Just pain passed around, over and over, until it all becomes numb.
