This will go down in history as the best Anime ever made. With the best script / Characters/ plot / Music / Animation. I watched it 10 times and never got bored. Everytime I watch Hohenheim death and the last music I can't stop the tears. How can a human being create such a masterpiece...

Rewatching this because of your recent Internet issues. It actually bugs me hearing you nitpick about how "quick" the souls came back. An eclipse is minutes long so, like, there was no other logical answer to counter what happened.

She will probably watch Nanatsu no Taizai next. It's another anime based on the seven deadly sins and one of the few popular long running shonens that she hasn't touched yet.

I don't know if you know this but all the seven deadly sins died an ironic death. Lust got killed by a womanizer, Gluttony got eaten, Sloth died overworking himself, Envy killed himself cuz he was jealous, Wrath died with a peaceful smile, Pride who should be proud of being a humonculus settled on taking over a humans body when his life was in danger, and Greed died doing an act of selflessness.

Can't wait for more bleach reaction, also Kimetsu No Yaiba(DemonSlayer) would be great as a new show to watch, 26 episodes I believe.

This was just as an amazing experience as it was when i watched it for the first time. In regards to your next adventure I feel like you should flex Bleach into the FMAB slot and start the new shorter anime in the sole Friday slot, and maybe make that shorter anime YuYu Hakusho. I mean 112 episodes isn't technically short but its not too long either. You'd thoroughly enjoy it since its from the same maker as Hunter X Hunter. Just my two cents π

Code Geass is a great anime for reactions. It's about the same length as Full Metal (might be a bit longer because I think a third season came out recently which I haven't seen yet) and has some really good plot shifts that will make you say OMG... ya know, those kind of moments are great for reactions. It's ending will NOT let you down :D

Randomly suggesting Steins Gate because it only has 24 episodes and it's up there with FullMetal π

Also, this is unsubstantiated, but I read once that the author was asked about Greed's fate, and she supposedly said that he passed on like a normal human, unlike the other hummunculi. I like to believe that that's true. If it is, I assume it had something to do with his choice at the end.

This goes back to what we were saying about Kimblee being motivated by conviction. Like how he was impressed by Ed and Al for their determination not to kill and to get their bodies back, and like how he respected Winry's parents for sticking to their duty even when the war became more violent, and now, finally, when he stepped in and overpowered Selim, when Selim abandoned his conviction towards his pride of the humunculi, and told him that he couldn't understand Ed's conviction to not kill.
Honestly, Kimblee has to be one of the best written characters in this series. He wasn't motivated by morality, but instead by honesty and determination.

A few details:
During their walk home, Al brings out Ed's leg, and says "thank you" to him. While Ed didn't have to live like a void armor for years, he ended up with an automail leg, and without his alchemy, which he gave away for Al. Meanwhile, Al has his full body back, and he keeps his full alchemy (and also after seeing the Truth, without the need of a drawn circle). So I always thought it was because, at the end of the journey, you could say Ed "loses the most". I don't think he regrets it, though. Btw, this fact, together with Xing's alkahestry that Al's going to learn from May, is probably going to make him one of the best alchemists alive.
The last picture, in the manga, shows only Ed, Winry, Al, May, and the babies. Paninya and Garfiel (Winry's boss) don't appear, which I believe subtly implies a more intimate picture, and somewhat suggests a relationship between Al and May as a couple.
Also, the picture of Roy with a moustache IIRC is only from the anime. In the manga, there's no moustache at all xD

the anime was really good. i love it, but i will say there were a few scenes changed from the manga that i wish weren't changed but more or less the same. for example in the roy scene with marcoh, roy mentions he would pay sacrifice his own gate to get his sight back but wouldn't be able to get back. then marcoh was like use this to pay the toll. they decided to go with him talking about Havoc and helping him first, which i don't know how that works, but sure. instead in the pictures at the end it shows him working on physical therapy. so i guess the animes version is a "happier" outcome. also hohenheim doesnt talk to Armstrong and then leave, he just leaves when the battle is over. couple other things too

in the reaction, u said that u like short anime and hate them too, cuz u fall in love with the characters and it ends. it happened to u in death note as well when that ended. there are, however, short anime in which you fall in love with the characters but wouldn't wish the anime continue. if u ever get a chance to watch them, I've two from the top of my mind: Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass. Those two conclude in every sense of the word, yet rewatchable.

2019-09-11 10:29:35 +0000 UTC
Fun fact: each homunculus died relating to their sin. Greed died by by being selfless, gluttony died by being consumed, sloth died by wearing himself out and gives up on living because it takes too much effort, lust, the personification of the sin that makes men kneel to her, dying on her knees before a man, envy commits suicide because he hates himself for being envious of humans, Wrath, indirectly betrayed by the weapon he uses to assert his feelings of anger, is killed by a serial killer: a serial killer who has overcome his own wrath, Pride stooped for something lower than what he actually was, and lost his edge in the battle.
