How I do Beta versions
Added 2020-01-23 22:29:11 +0000 UTCIn the last few days I got questions regarding Beta versions of My New Family. What they contain and how I do them. This post is to explain it.
As you probably know My New Family has ingame days. Before 0.6 each new update added three more days. Now there will be six days for each update which means more than double the amount of content you had before.
Each beta I release contains one day. So Beta 1 contained the first day, Beta 2 contained the second day etc. Up to the fifth day. I do this to get the most feedback from you patrons in terms of content, bugs etc, to make the public version as smooth as possible. The last day of each update is reserved for pre-release though so people can get something to look forward to before the end of the month.
So, if you decide to pledge for the Sandra tier, you will get five betas that each will contain one ingame day. You pretty much get content as soon as I made it. Lucy Patrons get the Beta after Sandra patrons. For example, when I release Beta 4 for Sandra Patrons, Lucy Patrons get access to Beta 3.
I hope that clears things up a bit, I know that other devs use the Beta and Alpha tag for "content complete" versions but I personally prefer it this way.
