Progress Update | 19/10/2020

Hello there you very attractive, wholesome and cute people out in the world!

Another week, another progress update!

Beta 2 was released for patrons last week and Beta 3 is also almost ready - I'm currently finishing the last event and then I have to make the CG's. The patrons and I are still testing the transition from 0.14 to 0.15 and so far it ( mostly ) worked out. We still have some issues here and there but if you played the public release you should be fine.

I'm still working at a slower pace than I used to and I think this is the right thing for my mental health. But on the other hand I also feel bad because I used to work faster and I don't want you people to wait too long for a release. It's kind of a dilemma right now that I'm trying to fight. I just hope that not too many of you will mind it if I can't keep up with the monthly public releases. I think it just became a bit too much, especially after 0.14. The good news is that people have been saying that 0.15 so far shapes to be the best update ever. So there is at least that, right?

As you can see I also was productive in the My New Memories department. All renders you see here are actual renders you will see ingame. I'm still writing away on the prologue which helps me a lot when I'm not able to write something for My New Family. It's interesting to see - If I can't write anything for My New Family I switch to My New Memories to reset my head. After some time I can work on My New Family again, which feels pretty good after a blockage.

After beta 3 is released you amazing people will get the usual teaser post that will be much more interesting than ever before ( at least I think so ). The story of 0.15 will be somewhat different, it will be more emotional and involve aspects I didn't really touch in My New Family before. Don't worry though, I will stick to what I love and that is making you smile and feel good at the end.

And I think that's it for this weeks progress update! I can't wait to hear your opinion on the teasers. Please don't hesitate to share your feedback about working a bit slower as well. Stay awesome people!

Dont worry about keeping a monthly schedule, if you have to slow down to month and a half or more we wont mind. I do hope we can get Granny into the fun soon, it feels bad that she is still left out

Every developer I've followed/supported here (and it's been several) has had to slow down at some point as they get burn out, run out of ideas, or just have real-life issues. And every time, they all felt like they were letting their fans down. Do what you need to keep yourself happy and healthy. I've seen too many good games get cancelled or virtually abandoned because the creator got burnt out or lost interest. One thing you might try is putting less content into each update. Your updates feature a lot more playtime than average. Hold back a few scenes for the next release in case something happens, or just so you don't have to push yourself as hard to get the next one out. Please don't push yourself to the point you hate this project, because that's how great games die.

Too many times I have seen good Developers "go down in flames" trying to keep a fast schedule of updates and such without taking care of their own health. Sure, Monthly updates are nice, but I would MUCH rather have updates a bit slower if that means you do not burn out or get sick due to over working yourself. And from what I have seen both here and on Discord, I am sure 99% of your players and patreons would agree with me. YOUR health MUST come first if you want to be around to not only finish MNF but MNM as welI, personally, would be fine with a Major update (15, 16, 17, etc) every 6 weeks than risk you becoming burned out and never finishing the game. Blessings and prayers from me to thee, and take good care of your health. BTW: 15, so far, is shaping up to being a FANTASTIC update, and I imagine that future updates will be just as good if not better. :)

Heyo Killa, That's ok to take things a bit slower, You are important to us and we don't want you to crush under the pressure. BTW, IT ISSSS THE BEST UPDATE EVER!!!

DUUUUDE! stop putting yourself down! i love the story and the animations that you have obviously put alot of effort into. and i cant wait to see what the next project looks like! these renders you keep posting look so good!!!

christian

Don't feel bad for slowing the pace, your mental and physical well-being is more important than to get the game done faster :)

Crash_Override

Take your time as you see fit. As many have said your health (mental or otherwise) is important.

Logic

Take whatever time you need to prevent yourself from burning out. Both you AND MNF will benefit from it.

Take your time, Killer. No sense in burning yourself out, my dear fellow. We're happy to wait. ^^

It reminds me of the turtle and the hair, I would rather you finish the story then have something happen to you. Oh by the way the 0.15 beta 2 is awesome as usual, keep up the good work stay safe

You do you don't worry how long it takes you to write, Your health is way more important than keeping up a fast pace.

Phillip Gosson

Personally, I feel that a healthy, happy Killer7 will mean a better game and a better experience for all of us. Take your time, maintain communication lines with us, and do what is best for you, and all the rest will follow and, in my opinion, will work out great. <3

Don't mind if the updates slow down a bit. I really like the monthly updates, but you are working on two projects now, so longer periods are alright by me. Also because You do need some rest as well, by the sound of it. Take care of Yourself, because if You break who is gonna jiggle that Cinnamon roll butt?
