Ridiculously large batch paint underway!

Hey guys!

Just a quick update on progress - most of the crafting for 3 videos has now been recorded, just a few bits left to go before we're purely on painting before doing the resin!

Faye is kindly helping me get these pieces all batch painted - as usual this is a bigger workload for me than you as I don't generally have the luxury of returning to a project to make more in future - once a video is done, I can't really make another one about the exact same bits πŸ˜„ plus I need to make EVERYTHING at once to show off in the video, rather than chunks over time..otherwise the wider audience on YouTube tends to not get 'WOW'ed' enough, and the video doesn't get as much reach as it could πŸ™‚

I'll also be continuing experimenting with potential ways to speed up painting, especially for those of you who need to coat in black mod podge first (and can't cheat around it with grey and mod podge on grey foam!)

Basically, an airbrush can speed up the base layer of grey (fairly obvious), and even faster with mini paints instead of craft (more costly, but less coats needed for coverage...so actually not as costly as you might think!)

Then if you have an accurate enough airbrush, painting the bricks with an airbrush can again save time. I'm NOT suggesting this for everyone, I have obvious reasons why time is especially important to me - but if it is to you too and money isn't a problem, then this may help.

Drybrushing and washing are a lot faster, so this speeds up the slower parts of  painting :)

A few other updates:

I'll be attending Zarrak's paint party on our discord this Friday at 7:30pm GMT, so if you haven't had a chance to hang out and paint with us yet - come say hi! You don't need a camera if you don't want to, you can even join through your phone :)

Long covid has been up and down, I've had some good days and bad, though I'm getting things done on lower energy days (read - I'm not completely useless) such as basic crafting like magnet placement, Fabio STL design, or basecoating. This is the main reason why the crafting portion of recording (sans resin, obviously!) isn't yet finished - but I'm working on it whenever I can!

Oh, and I got my taxes done (eventually), and I'm talking to lawyers about protecting my stuff, which takes time too, sadly. Much as I like to pretend it's not, people keep reminding me the channel is technically a business πŸ˜…

OH! and Fabio sent through these lovely little WIP previews - nice reward for sticking with this to the end πŸ˜‚ These will be usable in the resin sewers for added details - there's also a floating dead guy planned (a la Isildur) which would also work great in water tiles :)

See you all soon with more to show!
