it is interesting how, in the begining of the story, we all assumed Ian would have to fake being a warrier, because he is an educated man with a calm personality and to modern viewers that basically mean a wimp. What we forgot is that the show is from 1963, and a man his age would probably be a WW2 veteran. it's funny how times change.

So you have now seen your first true historical with no aliens or other sci-fi (apart from the TARDIS at the very end), it just shows that if the story (and performances) are good it still works
